Updates

Winter storm surveys completed at all twelve sites

The survey teams finished the third round of post-storm surveys. Data processing is under way and the results will be in the next data release.

Illustration of a coastline with survey transects and marker points

Between January and March the field teams visited every study site after the larger winter storms, repeating the same GNSS transects and drone flights each time.

What we collected

  • Beach profiles along 24 fixed transects
  • Drone imagery for the eight dune sites
  • Daily images from the fixed camera at Inchydoney

Processing takes about six weeks per round. The processed profiles will be published in the document library with the next data release.

Thank you

Thanks to the landowners and community volunteers who helped with access and kept an eye on the photo posts at Strandhill. (Sample content.)
